The trade restrictions that Japan has just announced will make it harder for companies such as Samsung and LG to buy various materials used in both chips and smartphones. The list of these materials includes resist, hydrogen fluoride, and fluorinated polyimide. Starting July 4, local companies will need the government's approval to export such materials to South Korea.
