TSMC ready to begin research for 2 nm nodes

The race for miniaturization continues, as TSMC is first to announce R&D for the 2 nm node, which will be built in the 3 nm facility from Hsinchu, Taiwan. TSMC plans to complete the 3 nm facility by 2021 and begin 3 nm mass production in 2022, so the 2 nm node is expected to become operational around 2024.
