Something that worked in 2018 does not have to be wrong in 2019 – that is something that Lenovo might have thought when planning the announcement of the ThinkPad E590. The new Lenovo ThinkPad is pretty much the same machine as the older E580 with a new CPU. Is the ThinkPad E590 still a sensible choice for an office laptop?

Are you going to do a review of the e590 with the amd radeon integrated? Because it would be interesting to know if the batterietime would suffer with that graficcard.
Thanks for the review.

@Alucard_Tepes,
unfortunately not – there was a seal over one of the bottom screws. But the internals should look exactly like the internals of the E580: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-ThinkPad-E580-i5-8250U-UHD-620-SSD-Laptop-Review.289954.0.html

You didn't mention in either this or the E580 review, but I don't think these models have backlit keyboards, which is an important thing to mention.

Your power draw graphs seem to claim the 580 uses less power but has a shorter life despite identical batteries

I now have one of these that I won.  You mention the performance issue of the SSD, is it a reasonable thing to do to replace it with something better?  If so can you make a recommendation?

Thanks
