The Samsung Galaxy S10+ is a great phone with a great camera. What better way to test it out in the real world than on a road trip in a Tesla Model S from Sydney to the see the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix in Melbourne?

Go to the embedded link for the full res versions.
Just from impression the night shots look like they've regressed from S9, there's notable lack of both DR and resolution retention, of course this is without comparison with other devices but it looks pretty obvious.
This shouldn't happen though.

I agree with these comments, my one misgiving about my new Galaxy S10+.  I recently bought one but haven't checked out the camera very much yet. I transitioned to it from my old Galaxy Note 4, which has a 16 MP camera, so in a sense I'm stepping backward, although of course the wide-angle camera on the S10 has 16 MP.  I like to display my photos on my 60" TV so MP are important to me.  I think that no amount of algorithmic trickery in the image processing firmware can make up for fewer MP.

I AM thinking about shooting with RAW image files being generated, then processing them offline to generate much higher-detail JPEGS, but haven't gotten too far yet. The one experiment I did with this doesn't look too good.

I am a little disappointed.  I'd much rather have a higher MP count than the AI modes which can't make up for lower resolution.
