All Chinese communications devices are primed for a complete ban in the U.S. and if Trump gets his way, this could happen before MWC in late February. One of the reasons for this hastened ban is the alleged violation of the Iran sanctions committed by Huawei chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou. The European Union is also considering a ban on Chinese phone makers.

The Chinese telecoms market (and many other markets) has never been genuinely open to foreign companies, not according to public policies, and with even more shady manipulation under the table. The west has sorely underestimated China two decades ago allowing for the persistence of these practices, it's just now that they realize it's impossible to compete with these companies on a playing field tilted against them.

There's always the Chinese attacking the west in any article that involves their country and another. No matter what kind of flimsy arguments they draw up, they always make it so blatant that they're trying to defend their glorious home country and anything that comes from it. Sad!
