Heavy throttler. The affordable Ryzen-powered laptop starts at just $330 USD with options up to the Ryzen 7 2700U and FHD display. Unfortunately, CPU throttling means owners won't benefit from the full performance of the hardware.

When are you going to review a good Ryzen notebook? The Matebook D Ryzen editions is only $600 at Walmart.

What a piece of s***. Shame on you Lenovo. Please test a good notebook with Ryzen, there are a LOT of options now. And its a shame cause the prices are great, lower by 200-300$ compared to an equivalent performing Intel version.

Lenovo Ideapad 720s 13, HP Envy x360 13 and Huawei Matebook D 14 are some of the better mid-range AMD mobile implementations. Although these are not price competitive enough and the lack of high-end options is extremely disappointing indeed.

As for Lenovo's offers, anything downwards of ideapad / yoga 500 series are simply not worth the purchase.

Lenovo thinkpad 585 is pretty good, hope notebookcheck can review it soon.

🙄It is not a compact notebook. it is unlikely that Lenovo would have to resort a smaller cooler to induce throttling.  I have an older Lenovo with an Intel chip, the cooling is overkill at 15 watts TDP.  They seem to be using old coolers probably rated at 35 watts.

It throttles because the chip is only rated at 15 watts (locked by the manufacturer).
