No-one in your video-conference session can see what you're doing with your own screen, right? Wrong, say a team of cybersecurity researchers. They have developed a new system, Synesthesia, to convert audio from your mic into the website you're looking at.

This is only useful against patterns and colors. It has little to no practical application.

of course I don't know, how well it is going to be implemented in the future
with what level of success, but i do know that there are plenty of privacy-paranoid people that, after these news, besides the camera taping will start disableing or otherwise block the mic on the computer.
