Entry-level gaming. Can entry-level base models be fun as well? Compared to the 1060 a 1050 Ti is a clear regression. Let's see whether or not there are other differences and what effect the slower GPU had on overall performance.

They really ought to review the Lenovo Ideapad 720S 15-IKB; it has similar specs (1050 Ti Max-Q and i5-7300HQ) but a slim profile and very good cooling capability.  Also, it can usually be purchased for under $1000.  The only caveat is the European version only has 2GB of video memory, whereas the US/Canadian version is the 4GB model.
