With the hand brakes on! After testing the Inspiron 15 with Nvidia's Max-Q technology, we have now also taken a look at the entry-level model of the series. But the storage device leaves a bit of a bad taste in our mouth.

I recently purchased the i7 version of this laptop at around £1100. It was great, ran games very smoothly and excellent performance. Was a bit heavy and took up a fair amount of space due to thick-ish bezels around the screen and numberpad, but nothing that bothered me too much. But one thing I couldn't get over- the brightness. It was so poor. Even at max brightness, indoors during the day it constantly seemed too dim, to the point where I eventually returned the laptop.

Honestly quite surprised that Dell would make such an error. It ruined an otherwise good laptop.

(Oh, unrelated to the laptop itself but worth a warning: Dell UK's customer service is frankly a shambles and you would be better off buying from ANYWHERE except direct from the Dell UK website.)
