In a rather reticent tweet, Microsoft's Brandon LeBlanc has tweeted that the company is not yet ready to go public with plans regarding the future of the ill-fated Windows 10 Mobile. For fans of the platform however, it has opened up more questions than answers.

This Windows 10 Mobile user is staying put.  I have been using Microsoft's mobile solutions for over 15 years and I have been happy with each and every iteration of their Windows Mobile platform.  I have owned:

HP Jornada 540 (2001)
Dell Axim X5 (2004)
HTC Mogul (2007)
Samsung Focus (2010)
Lumia 920 (2013)
Lumia 950XL (2016)

I simply cannot see myself using any other platform.  iOS is an ugly usability nightmare and Android is inelegant (plus, I do not trust Google and do not use their products).  God-willing, Microsoft will come through with something for users like me or I'm getting a flip phone in 2019 or when my 950XL finally dies.
Until then, you can pry my Windows 10 Mobile from my cold dead hands.

Personally, as a Lumia user myself, I very well echo your sentiments. I used a hacked 920 running the Creators Update. I haven't used iOS extensively so cant comment on that. I did get a chance to play around with Android but its highly fragmented and yes, Google. I am used to the Live Tiles interface and find it difficult to stare at static icons.

Microsoft better come with something concrete in the interest of the ecosystem as a whole.

Outright arrogance coming from Microsoft these days in regards to W10M. Can't help but feel they are becoming more and more evil under Nadella. With that, my prediction is Nadella wants to kill off any remnants of the Ballmer Era Mobile platform, resurrect it as a Android iOS clone, so if it does gain traction he can lay claim to it's success.

I would preorder even now, cannot expect overtechnology, but to have new mobile device with 4/5G and full W10 in pocket or on head is enough thrilling. Also thx for abandoning W10M, we all wanted fullW10 from the start.

The only forward is to have an adaptable interface. Obviously you cannot expect a phone to run Win32 apps even it runs WoARM. Win32 apps are not dynamically DPI-aware as UWP apps are and hence do not scale well on small form factors. Add to the fact that we have still not yet seen the real world performance of WoARM yet.
