For the first time, we were able to obtain very specific details regarding AMD GPUs in Intel's CPUs! Insiders have mentioned four very specific mobile microprocessors.

Come on guys, amd64 means that the driver is compiled in the 64-bit version of the x86 instruction set. Yep, just that.

Sorry to burst your bubble but this is nothing.

Look what I found on my 3 year old Intel based lenova POS work laptop.

Like rewt said, this is just since its a 64-bit driver.

Regardless of the maker of this iGPU, it would be great to have more information on its architecture, how it differs from the standard GPU 620, possible some benchmark comparisons.

chlorhexbenzene

Yes, but Intel would NEVER compile its driver and list arch as "amd64", they list 64-bit as x86_64

For the UHD part, I figure because they're finally moving on from "Intel HD" to "Ultra High Definition" i.e HDMI 2.0 / HDCP 2.2 support on Mobos.

And about damn time too, got tired of HDMI 1.4a

No chlorhexbenzene,
you're wrong. Screenshot I took from my 3 year old INTEL based Lenovo.

No AMD to be found, drivers still say AMD64... AMD created 64 bit.

Rajji

This is nonsense.

  • Intel UHD Graphics 620 = Intel U-Series HD Graphics 620
  • Source Says Device ID = "0x5917"
  • Looking at the Mesa drivers -> CHIPSET(0x5917, kbl_gt1_5, "Intel(R) Kabylake GT1.5")
  • 0x5917 = Kaby Lake GT1.5
  • Core i7-7500U has "HD Graphics 620"

Makes sense

Core i7-8550U will have "HD Graphics 620" as well.

Sadly the first information we got was not correct. The latest presentation screenshot is showing that the UHD Graphics is not more than the known Intel HD Graphcis. The article was updated based on our latest findings. Sorry for the inconvenience.
