Facelift with small flaws. The successor of the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet, the thinnest and lightest 10-inch tablet, has the designation ... Z4 Tablet - logical. Just as logical are the updated internals, the slightly reworked chassis and the improved display. This sums it up pretty nicely. But: The Snapdragon 810 (also) causes some problems in the latest Sony flagship device.

A classic example if too much power. Sony have put in hardware which is too powerful or the screen is such a high res that makes the cpu and gpu work in overdrive. If they had lowered the screen res, then the cpu and gpu would have been able to show its prowess.

Also the average battery life diminishes the reason to buy it in the first place. They could have at least put in a quick charger.

I really like this tablet thanks for this article  ;D

The thermal is not really and issue. As I keep telling people since I has the Z1, if it gets too hot, run it under the tab for 10 seconds, boom-back to normal  :D

I mean, what else is the benefit of a water proof tablet right?  ;D

I wish you had taken this into consideration in your review

This tablet is very fast when gaming or browsing, wifi hookup is instant and the lagg or any hickups is not existing. Updating 20 android apps, mostly shmups (fast ship pew pew games, like r-TYPE) is done with 4 uppdates running and installing at the same time, any apps updated are done multiplied and multitasked. Emails pop up fast and webpages with big loads are pretty fast. The screen is 2k resolution. Very high pixel count, watching pictures is extremely detailed and vivid. Taking pictures is sad, it works, both cameras do work, but my phone takes better pics (lets leave brands out of this) Actually it works bad, since the screen is so damn good to look at, the pictures taken feel flat out bad. Especially darkness is hard to handle for the camera. Contrast is bad with camera also, too much sharp edges. Watching images is awesome and impressive, especially with a onedrive or google drive storage. However the camera is not topnotch. Out of box the colors are abit saturated towards blue, i suggest changing color saturation to 23 red and 21 green 0 at blue. This fixes the color for me. The chipset is updated with software and there is no longer any thermal problems. The heat issue was mainly effected by the first wave of software from out of box and luckily was not a hardware problem, which would have been really bad were it so. Dont know how but its fixed. Android is currently at 5.02. Sound is good, nothing special, but its 6,1 mm thin. Much smaller than any in ear phones on market. With a headset, it has some sort of noice less software, ive not tried this. Bluetooth works with most soundbars or stereos it would seem. watching video on internet is topnotch. Any app that is available with android or the google play store works. Being open is good when it comes to software. Waterproofing is nice, the shell is not so hard, ive not tested bending it, as i have purchased this one.  However it does not feel like it could handle sitting on, nor bending for that matter. I like this product alot but camera and outer shell is downers. The upper of this one is the speed of everything, gaming, the screen, sonys in house interface, and the instant wifi connections, waterproofing is efficient... Also the battery from 0 to 100% takes 4 hours for me. Not 5 and 1/2 hours as reviewer version of this tablet. Cheers and take care.

Must add i have not seen, nor tested the keyboard. It was not available.
My xperia z4 tablet is LTE or 4G and is called SGP771 purchased in sweden.
