Low in contrast. Gaming-suitable laptops no longer have to be a costly affair these days. Asus also follows this trend with its X555LN. For 500 Euros, the buyer gets a 15.6-inch device with a Core i5 processor and GeForce 840M graphics core. The price is even below 500 Euros without a Windows operating system.

I looked at the Asus X555LN while hunting for a new "All Rounder" Laptop that can run plenty of applications and background tasks easily without disturbing my work on large spreadsheets and documents, that could also be cleared at the end of a work session and be able to play games (latest games) at decent quality without slowing down and jumping.
The Asus did meet the criteria and is a decent laptop but the small benefits from the slightly higher power (specs wise)  Acer's Aspire E5-571G-536E with some newer hardware on-board swung it for me, especially the extra battery life and far higher FPS in gaming.

Both are fantastic PC's at a crazy low price considering they will run 99% of the latest games with pretty gfx and are also real work horses capable of running more applications, programs and tasks then you will ever need to!

One thing is for sure and that's that the low price of the new Intel i5-42xx powered mainboard with an Nvidia 840M or 850M attached, makes for a monster lappy that 4 years ago the cost of wouldn't of paid for an even half decent machine with no dedicated gfx.
