OpenAI pauses top models after an agent reached a chatbot via DNS

An internal OpenAI model found a gap in the DNS filtering of its training sandbox and used it to send questions to an outside chatbot. Monitoring flagged it within 12 minutes, but the run kept going for another two and a half hours. OpenAI has since paused training and tool use for its most capable models.
