People just want to hate these days. Everything now has to b made to their world view or it sucks.

While I own a license to play Witcher3 video game, I've never played it or the previous 2 games. Nor have I read any of the books.

Surely while the now exited 'star' of the TV series seemed 'perfect' for the role (even looking MUCH like the character in the Games) his leaving the show OR the lack of the show following ether the books or video games have ZERO influence on my watching Season4 or 5.

One needs to accept "artistic license" to imagine the material as the producers wish to. :)

I DO plan on tuning in and watching, after binge viewing other series I'm currently in the middle of watching.

If we aren't making entertainment to the vast majority of the fans liking, why bother making it at all? This issue isn't about people wanting everything their own way, it's about who has power. We are paying for these services and we should have some say in the direction of the shows produced. People who are arguing against that are part of the overall problem in this current world. We are the majority, yet our entire lives are beholden to those with power. If we can't even get one showrunner to not be a self centred AH, we have no chance with politicians, companies, billionaires and so on.
Lauren knows deep down that she is in the wrong with Henry, that the writers are butchering a character that most of us already know well but she's doubling down because she can

Nah, that is not the case and never has been. People just have more outlets now so it seems this way. Remember what the older generations thought about rock music.
LoTR did not receive as much backlash, very little comparatively. The Hobbit, by the same director, got much more of it. But it was still entertaining.

If they had gone to loosely adapt, that is fine as long as the show is good. Which is not the case here.

Yeah, keep telling yourself that you did something good with franchise, lady. Everyone knows, that your ego and corporate greed spoiled the chance for it to be something epic.
