Asus also offers a base version of the new ROG Xbox Ally gaming handheld with a white chassis. However, it only uses an old AMD Zen 2 processor, which is just not powerful enough.

...and just think, ASUS was considered a generic/cheap/bargain brand just a few years ago... just like Samsung, Xiaomi and many BBK's products.

What changed? Nothing... but, today, cheap brands are attaching a premium jacked-up price for their same inferior products.

"...is just an old AMD Zen 2 chip, which is also powering the Steam Deck for years now. This means modern titles can hardly be played at all..."

So it would seem that the AMD 780M has fallen from the grace and hype it still had even earlier this year. (granted the 780M is still better than the 740/760M (non-extream Z1) that the Base ROG Ally had before it.

Indeed, PC Games can be played on these low power AMD APU's however how well that play can be had is yet another subject entirely!

Add in the overhead of WIN11 and the industry can see how/why a gaming platform OTHER THAN Windows is needed sooner than later.
