The Samsung Galaxy A17 4G has a more modern design, but otherwise the differences to its predecessor are limited. However, with an AMOLED screen and 6 years of updates, it still stands out among affordable phones.

Basically same phone for different regions than A17, F17 doesnt have esim and have virtual proximity sensor but brighter display.

I won't necessarily say the update promise and e-Sim are bad. Majority of OEMs in this price range struggle to give 1 or 2 OS upgrade. Samsung might not be able to deliver on 6 OS upgrades but even if they are able to crank half of that [read:3 major], that would be head and shoulders over what the competition offers [in this price range].

As for E-Sims, I would be surprised if phones in this category/price point even offer them. But then, in my country, e-sim is still in it's very nascent stage and physical SIM are still standard.

Samsung A series used to come with a 3.5 mm jack in the past. I had a model [A15 was it?] from this series and whilst the sound coming from my Sennheiser IEMs plugged directly into the jack wasn't anything impressive, I would much rather take a jack over nothing.

Also, Samsung phones usually come with atleast the SSC codec [Samsung Scalable Codec] which, IIRC, only works for all intents and purposes, with Samsung Galaxy Buds. I wonder if this entry level offering supports that.
