Xiaomi's new TV Stick 4K (2nd Gen) is one of the cheapest Google TV devices outside the US. Despite that, it performs admirably well, with its S905X5M SoC delivering CPU and GPU performance better than devices like the Google TV Streamer 4K.

What bothers me is the lack of updated Android TV.

It's currently in version 16, and this device comes with version 11.

Other brands aren't any better.

What gives?

No, Google TV 14 is the latest version and that's what the Xiaomi TV Stick 4K 2nd Gen ships with.

Huh... You are correct. Google TV 16 hasn't been released yet (the Wikipedia page is wrong) though it'll come very soon (with 64bit kernel support, though I'm sure most brands won't jump to 64bit soon).

Also, I'm not sure where I'd read that it was coming with 11 instead of 14, but you are correct there too.

I need to sleep more. Thanks for the corrections.
