Ok, let us be realistic here for a moment -
- surely while plugged in a user would likely try to make the best use of the QHD display with as native resolution gaming. As mentioned, this might push the limits of the mere 8GB vRAM (which all but a few laptop models have by default).
- surely while "in the wild" or on battery a user might dial things down a bit on both resolution and details. Given that just about everyone (AMD/Nvidia/Intel) are making use of 'up scaling' and 'frame gen' to get better performance, better battery life AND performance could be had out of the 5070 laptop chip here.
If we were to denote the current crop of iGPU's (and 5050, if such a thing actually exists or has been used) as the LOW END and 5070ti or 5080 and above as "high end" the 5060/5070 sit fairly firmly in the "mid end" of the offerings.
A not exactly "light" or small 15.6" (why they don't call these 16" is beyond me!) that comes in at $1100 is a darned decent price point for what it is!!
I'd expect to pay more for ether smaller (14") and/or higher performance.
Overall a fairly decent mid-range machine for a reasonable discounted price.
