Note the contrast with their Assassin's Creed Shadows story. Ubisoft is framed as making the right call, concerns of supposed Japanese players are centered (If I remember correctly much of the charge came from reactionary culture warriors outside Japan) and the story goes on about 'cultural insensitivity'. Not a single mention of censorship.
But since this story involves concerns from chinese players and involved a chinese game studio. None of the considerations in the Assassin's Creed story are given here. Adam Corsetti spins the story in a completely different direction. Starts blaming Leenzee games, centers the supposed concerns of a select few (western) players over others and pulls out the ol' 'censorship' canard.
It's this type of double standards and biased reporting why western 'journalism' is so distrusted.
