While you'd be hard pressed to find a OLED TV that is rated higher than a LG model, it surely is NOT because of its 'webOS' but rather the picture quality. :)
As far as the internal Firmware/Software running on the 'SmartTV' goes, seemingly much like ANY network connected appliance these days if allowed the TV will weekly/monthly update itself for no other reason but to push LG content.
YES, you read that right - LG content.
LG it seems has its own 'media hub' where they would wish you to sign up for an account and then pay for 'premium channels'. Even WITHOUT an account a internet connected LG TV will display 'deals' and 'special offers' (along with other unwanted or asked for) advertisements in the upper right corner of your screen each time the TV is turned on. (the TV may also bring up a 'channels' menu on the left side of the screen all on its own)
