Alongside the Minisforum AI X1 Pro, the company has made the non-Pro version of the mini PC available to purchase. It has a Mac mini-like design and packs the AMD Ryzen 7 260, a new Hawk Point APU.

It's right there in the image, on the front you see the circle with the light in the middle next to the usb-a port

correction:up to 64GB RAM

The image containing the "max, 96GB" RAM has been decreased down to:
QuoteEquipped with up to 64GB of lightning-fast 5600 MHz RAM
This is a scam / artificial limitation by MINISFORUM it seems, because the same SOC1 in their UM890 Pro supports up to 96 GB RAM:
Quote.. 96GB on the entire device ..
1 To quote Notebookcheck:
QuoteTo be specific, it's the Ryzen 7 260, which is part of the Hawk Point lineup. It's basically an identical APU to the Ryzen 7 8845HS with a different name.
QuoteThe chip is identical to the old Ryzen 7 8845HS and therefore also the Ryzen 7 7840HS (which did have a lower clocked NPU).
(yes, the Ryzen 7 260, is a rename of a rename of a rename..)

So how does the "AI" in "Minisforum AI X1" make sense, when the up to RAM capacity has been decreased..unbelievable.
Can't run:
  • Qwen3-30B-A3B BF16 GGUF (65.4 GB) (the full 16-bit, because quantizing a 3B active is no good (I noticed knowledge decrease, but your mileage may vary))
  • gpt-oss-120b F16 GGUF (61.1 GB) (quants of this LLM don't make much sense, because this is trained natively in 4-bit)
  • GLM-4.5-Air Q4_K_M GGUF (72.9 GB)
