Huawei has updated the MateBook 14 and is now offering an Intel 12th generation processor in the high-quality midrange ultrabook. Our test shows whether an upgrade is worthwhile and how the model that visually shows a strong resemblance to the MacBook Air fares in our comparison.

Yeah, true; it's the other way round where the Air is an alternative to this one but failing with weaker performance and significantly warmer chassis under load - 31.3 °C coolest spot under max load, 21.6 °C here with this MateBook 14. You also get an easily replaceable SSD here. Well, at least the Air has better battery life and it's quiet, that means a lot when you wait for longer time to complete the same operation 👍 And you can enjoy the big fat notch too.

Only if you are deaf. If it has an active fan already it's not an alternative to Macbook Air. With 48 db it's half a vacuum cleaner.

Kind of a weak attempt isn't it?
16:10, 14" screen, silent, and under 1 kg - from 2021!  This probably beats it in 95% of the metrics.

Come on manufacturers, light and silent is more important then useless laptop 'features' like 3k screens.

If 1.4 kg s is heavy, ie if 447 grams less are so crucial, your priority is supposed to be a gym membership instead of a new laptop.

I have the Matebook 14 2020 model. Absolutely fantastic hardware even compared to current competition. But what I find amazing is the lack of current offerings from Huawei. The reviewed model is 2 generations behind!  There was no 2023 model.... and it seems there will not be a 2024. Wtf Huawei?
