Lenovo Yoga Book 9i 9th gen gets minor spec bump to Intel 14th gen Core Ultra Raptor Lake-U Refresh

Lenovo is offering a new Yoga Book 9i 9th gen at CES 2024 albeit as a minor refresh to the 2023 version. The Yoga Book 9i 9th gen is a dual-display convertible that now features Intel 14th gen Core Ultra Raptor Lake-U CPUs. Other specifications including the dual 2.8K OLED, 5 MP camera, 3x Thunderbolt 4 ports, and 80 WHr battery remain unchanged.

It's actually a downgrade. Higher clocks on the 14th gen will just mean more throttling and it will happen quicker. Save a fortune and get heavily discounted 13th gen. Also no AMD so shove it Lenoblo.

Looks like Lenovo continues to second-class AMD for thinkpads. I'd like to get an 8040 X1. The other brands are starting to look more interesting.

X1 and P1 are being fully designed and developed together with Intel so it's a bit difficult to see an AMD inside due to the obvious reasons. T14s is pretty close to X1 but cheaper and it has an excellent AMD options just fine.

I'm going to focus on the product I want to buy, not the insider shenanigans (unless they're illegal, in which case the should be front and centre).

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that approach. You have valid points there overall but as with everything in life there are limitations; just as you can't walk in sugar factory and buy a chocolate you can't get to Intel and ask them to sell you an AMD product.
