Tesla's big vehicle price fluctuations and repair wait times are putting rental car companies at a loss both in the figurative and literal sense. Tesla has cut prices by 30% this year and those rental companies which bought at the peak are suffering.

I highly doubt BYD will have a better repair track record anywhere outside China. The main reason was likely depreciation. And they could have gotten a better deal than the general public as a bulk buyer. Corporations do this all the time - they shop around for a better deal. And they drop those that are not saddled with exit penalties.

They have a problem with depreciation and maintenance on Teslas, so the solution is buying a low quality commie car?  Only modern C-suite executives could come up with such a daft idea.  You would expect that they run from BEVs with the way people either do not want to rent them, or rent them to rideshare and trash them.  We may be watching the end of Hertz in real time.

BYD is way better in aspects of repair, maintenance, spare parts and battery replacement.

So sorry for you western losers that BYD also will tank your car industries.
