The Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max has been given the number one position in a chart of the global top 10 most-shipped smartphones for the first half of 2023 (1H23). In fact, Apple has taken up five slots in the table, including the top four places, leaving Samsung to grab the rest with various Galaxy S and Galaxy A phones. This meant there was no room left for Xiaomi/Redmi devices.

Samsung's numbers actually improved while Apple's declined so the title is quite misleading.. Plus Samsung sold more higher end models compared to last year. Apple is still untouchable in the premium segment though.

Xiaomi just posted Q2'23 numbers and they've sold 30 million total. Let's say they sell 150 million a year but release 50+ models a year (50+ 2020, 60+ 2021, 70+ 2022) so on average 2-3 million units per model/phone.. Not really hundreds of millions 🤡
