From a design and technical point of view, the Galaxy Z Fold5 has looked to the Fold4 for inspiration. Although Samsung's newest foldable smartphone has improved in only a select number of areas, the Galaxy Fold5 shines with virtues familiar to the Fold series. Read here to discover whether it's a worthwhile purchase.

I have compared S23 base, S23 plus, S23 Ultra, and Fold 5 (internal screen). I have opened Chrome web browser and the same webpage on all 4 phones. I assumed the bigger the screen the more content will be shown. Unfortunately this is not the case. All 4 phones showed almost the same amount of text, on bigger screens the text simply was larger.

I have tried changing system scaling and system font size. This does nothing to the apps and web browser. It only changes size of system text.

What is the point of bigger screen if there is no way to see more web content?

It seems foldables makes sense only for gaming and using split screen option to run 2 apps at the same time.
Video watching is problematic due to large black bars.

These prices are getting ridiculous.
It's still a phone, with weak performance and a castrated OS.

How can a phone cost twice as much as a decent laptop ?
What could possibily justify this ?

Imagine paying +1500$ to have a 120Hz PWM screen lol.

Samsung is sure full of lazy managers who cant even do or approve something so basic as DC Dimming.

Only the Z Flip5 doesn't have it despite having wired video output capability. Fold already has DeX since day one.

That's why I sold my Galaxy Fold and got an LG V50 with its detachable Dual Screen case. With the LG, I can easily multitask two different apps in a normal smartphone aspect ratio without any problem. I can even use the main screen as a Bluetooth-supported touch gamepad for Honkai Star Rail and Assoluto Racing, which is something I never able to do on any foldable phones.

You have to remember that most app developers still have no interest in developing apps for larger screens, be it foldable or tablet or even Desktop Mode. LG really got the right idea all along, it's just that pretty much all popular sellouts on YouTube dismissed it as a so-called "gimmick".
