Soldered 8 GB RAM makes the Dell Inspiron 16 7630 and 7635 2-in-1 series a tricky recommendation

The 2023 Inspiron 16 2-in-1 is seemingly a good bargain for just $650 USD, but the next SKU up with 16 GB of RAM costs a hefty $250 more. 16 GB of RAM is widely considered to be the recommended bare minimum for modern Windows PCs.

The problem is not in soldered memory (this gives a technological advantage in terms of frequencies and reliability), but in inadequate volume and overpriced at times for large volumes, relative to retail prices (and usually with a 5-10 year warranty for at least modules)

If at least 32GB (which cost a penny) is soldered for 2023 for all models, there are no complaints.

You, A, as usual, are incapable of thinking down to the level of nuance.

The monstrous prohibitive greed of the capitalists with an exorbitant rate of profit is the problem of the modern world.

The funny thing is that retail prices for the same model can vary by $200-300, which is the price of 64GB of RAM and more for a 1TB SSD..

True, it seems to be impossible to solder 64GB - a maximum of 32GB. Only Zen4 Phoenix allows you to desolder, according to preliminary data, 128GB lpddr5 7500.

Maybe, A, you will do your home investigation and find out exactly from AMD datasheets or from AMD employees how much lpddr5 can really be soldered in Zen4? After all, you are from the USA and it is easy for you to call AMD directly. You love to cover any dispute with details, although most of them are proven to be false...

Unfortunately unless the person really knows on how to actually be able to potentially upgrade this computer with the right ram, without voiding anytype of warranty, kinda stuck right? Might as well order last years model...
