Meta Quest Pro receives US$400 and £200 price cut mere months after launch

Meta has discounted the Quest Pro, the company's high-end alternative to the Quest 2. Originally available for US$1,499.99, the sale takes the Quest Pro to a slightly more palatable US$1,099.99. The VR headset is now also cheaper in the UK, but only by £200.

This is a very poorly written and researched article. It is not a "price cut," it is a sale. The Quest Pro has longer battery life than the Quest 2 if you don't use its eye and face tracking. The design is not "cumbersome," it is generally considered to be better, and the Pro model has pancake lenses, which are worlds better than the fresnel lenses on the 2.

This is what happens with an outlet spreads itself too thin past its core competance (notebooks): brand damaging incompetance.

It is probably on sale to respond to the upcoming HTC Vive XR Elite, which also sells for $1099, though it doesn't have integrated eye and face tracking, it has a more flexible design.

Same, I agree. While the Quest Pro is probably not a good value for typical consumers (the type that only use their VRs once in a great while), the Pro is a step up in every way. I am tempted to buy just because of the insane comfort, lightweight, and awesome passthrough. I mean, you could wear it all day and you would barely notice.
