Tesla cars consume the least fuel when converted to the miles per gallon metric, followed by Japanese or Korean brands like Subaru, Kia, Hyundai, Toyota, Honda, and Mazda. Then come the German automakers, while the gas-guzzling trend puts GM, Ford, or Stellantis, at a disadvantage.

Subaru as a fleet gets good mileage but that's because the only have 1 SUV. So any other car makers with trucks and SUVs will rank much worse, even if their cars get better mileage than a Subaru. Subaru's actually don't get that great a milage because of the longitude engine running through 2 differentials. Great AWD system at the expense of fuel efficiency.

I wonder how the electric fuel equivalence works, and, yes this is not a very fair comparison.

Given who runs Tesla... that's enough reason right there to consider Subaru or basically any other EV out there.
