The Model Y's record high Euro NCAP safety rating may not have been in vain, as its driver survived a self-inflicted crash with an Amtrak train. She reportedly tried to move the crossing arm and then beat the train to the crossing when the Tesla got hit and parts of its chassis then smashed into other vehicles around.
