According to Q3 2022 financial figures released by AMD, the company's Data Center, Gaming, and Embedded Systems segments performed well. But the Client segment which includes consumer CPUs like the Ryzen 6000 series took a significant hit due to a weak PC market. Furthermore, the company is also expecting a less-than-ideal Q4 2022, possibly due to bad Zen 4 sales.

"it is safe to assume that Ryzen 7000 processors aren't moving like AMD expected them to. We can conjecture the bad sales are due to aggressively priced Raptor Lake processors and the high cost of entry for the Zen 4 CPUs as good AM5 motherboards and DDR5 memory, both of which are required for Zen 4, are still comparatively pricey."

Other reasons include:
- Ryzen 7000 have too high MSRPs themselves.
- So far, Ryzen 7000 has too high TDP. 65W CPUs are still missing on the market.
- People want Thunderbolt 4 or at least USB 4 but they are offered for too few Ryzen notebooks or with limited features implementation.
- People wait for such RTX 4000 that are available and have reasonable MSRPs.
- People wait for such RX 7000 that are available and have reasonable MSRPs.
- RX 7000 is already delayed.
- People wait for reasonable prices of RTX 3000 considering the time passed since launch.
- People wait for reasonable prices of RX 6000 considering the time passed since launch.
- Too few Ryzen U CPUs are in the market.

Multiple reasons but one of the main reasons is a lot of tech coming out at the same time. RTX 4000 series from Nvidia, Intel's new Raptor lake, AMD Zen4, and also their RDNA3 cards. A lot of people are waiting to also see the 7000x3d CPUs to make sure they don't spend harder and money on something that's going to be slower in 3 months.
