The IdeaPad Gaming 3 15IAH7 stands out from the masses of affordable gaming laptops particularly in two aspects: The TGP of the graphics card is relatively high, and the image quality turns out surprisingly good. Find out in our test, whether this is a real insiders' tip.

This laptop would be a very successful model, even despite the morally outdated fhd screen. But everything was ruined by the noise level in surfing and the load below average ...

Lenovo needs to somehow strengthen the cooling system before it's too late. I'll write again - no one will carry such laptops with them (they are already heavy and not durable), so the weight practically does not matter. Add more heat pipes, increase the diameter of the coolers (this will reduce the speed and noise). Let it weigh around 2.7-2.8kg (like a completely silent Dell G5 5587 in surfing and office), not current 2.3-2.4. The extra +300-400g doesn't solve anything for the target audience, but it will be a good universal laptop, albeit not as pumped as the L5Pro. It even has TB4.0...

Even the memory tuning (here it is single-channel, but it is clear that everything is ok) generally suited me for DDR4 3200, although of course it is sad that there is no support for DDR5 4800, where Intel greatly outperforms AMD even with LPDDR5 6400!

Where is minimum brightness? Whats the reason you sometimes measure it and sometimes not? It really annoys me

Did you just forget to tell them how Lenovo messed up the type C port ? I endedbup buying a 15ihu6 i7-11370H device and assume this is a similar model being discussed.

The notebook I bought ( which appears to be the same series )  Lenovo messed up a great notebook with a cheapo and shoddy type c deal. The type C does not permit connecting a display device to it !!! How ridiculous can that be ? What was Lenovo thinking about ? Saving a few pennies and messing with customers..

This is pure marketing, otherwise than highlighting the older series, despite the fact that TB4.0 (USB40) is built into the Intel and AMD SoCs and the physical wiring (plus power wiring) in reality costs a penny (+ $ 10-20 in the price of a laptop, maximum). You understood that you were buying and read psref before buying for your model, right? 15ihu6 series NOT output TB4.0 port from SoC (Although Tiger Lake H definitely has at least 2 TB4.0 ports in SoC). Ony series with Alder Lake Maybe (or may not have) the USB-C port with TB4.0, i.e. this must be checked when buying.

For Alder Lake series from psref:
QuoteOptional Ports (configured):
1x Thunderbolt 4 / USB4 40Gbps (support data transfer, Power Delivery 3.0 and DisplayPort 1.4, for RTX 3050/RTX 3050 Ti graphics models)

i tried this unit and here is my verdict :

    • Cooling just okay, but intel i5-12500h will still reaches 95 degree and throttle unless undervolted but bad news is currently undervolt is not possible or locked on new gen of intel
    • the keyboard is not comfortable to use, 2021 version of this variant has much better keyboard.
    • Still using 8GB RAM, and upgrade is hassle since this unit has more screw and case to be disassembled
    • Bad webcam, the quality feels like webcam from low end laptop

beside of CPU performance, i feel this model is total downgrade compared to its 2021 version.
