With Nvidia releasing the RTX 40 series GPUs and AMD announcing that it will unveil the RX 7000 boards in November, the competition in the enthusiast graphics space is heating up. Hardware leaker Tom from the Moore's Law is Dead YouTube channel has now revealed some interesting details about the upcoming AMD RDNA 3 GPUs while also giving his opinion about the prices of the RTX 40 boards.

The Nvidia's RTX 4090 cards will sell out! AMD will always go the cheaper route because they can't compete on performance. I can't even imagine purchasing an AMD card over the 4090!

Tom from Moore's Law is dead channel is unreliable. Just go to any of his old videos. He most famously told people that mining is a fad and people should sell their rtx 2000 series for cheap right begore GPU apocalypse.

Whoever wrote this article is completely clueless on consumer trends, performance differences, and preferablity. Must be an AMD fanboy. Almost no one prefers AMD GPUs over Nvidia. I'd rather pay the extra 50-100$ and get the BEST performance, featureset and driver compatibility in Nvidia than give that all up for some lackluster AMD cards. Just look at past sales history and it's clear what the people want.

Wow

NVidia fanboys are legit scared by the mere prospect that AMD might actually slap NVidia this go-round! Judging from the four responses to this article already, it's clear they're afraid that their beloved 'Team Green' may actually be challenged in the consumer market.

How about this, why not wait until after 3 November to make any assumptions about who's going to "win" here? The overwhelming majority of people that will be purchasing GPUs will not really care about who's the best in performance... it will be who makes the best-performing card per dollar and per Watt... and if they need to buy a new PSU or not.

... and to be clear, I own products from both companies and I'm equally happy with both... I buy what I can afford and just enjoy the heck out of it. Being an elitist or a fanboy is just toxic and unnecessary, so please, do shut up.

Green versus Red is not a purpose in itself. This generation is about allowing or denying Nvidia's almost doubled prices of the 4080-called cards. From AMD, we want it not to copy Nividia's unlimited greed.

Crazy as it seems

Wow, what a battle of the fanboys!

As someone who had been working and gaming with 3090 and 6900xt since launch, here are my 2 cents.

N has better drivers, so long if it's working. The coding engine for H.265 just wins in all scenarios. But there is one major flaw. There are zillions of times I have to rollback to older drivers just to get something working. And no, studio drivers does not help either.

AI processing is also a win for N just because more programs supports cuda. However if the program supports amd GPUs, then the speed is just equal.

So really, which last gen gpu is better is just a matter of preference.

is there an edit somewhere where you correct your statement on how much beam the 2 4080s have? because neither has 24gb. that's the 4090. the 4080s are 12 and 16.

Ermm.. AMD had caught up last gen. What in the world are you talking about?

At this generation, AMD will have a good lead on rasterization performance. While Nvidia will still maintain a good lead on Ray Tracing performance. However, the differences of quality between DLSS 3.0 versus FSR 2.1 is still unknown.

I dont care about green vs red, if it helps for the consumers then ill support whatever it is. Right now hopefully AMD will equal or top it so that we can have a competitive pricing between both of them and AMD is pricing it very reasonable. Nvidia will have to force to price it competitively if AMD will indeed prove the hype.

I think AMD will be in a good place this gen. Nvidia is handing the sales over to them. The 4000 series will be bigger(literally), draw more power, and be more expensive. Meanwhile, AMD will have a cheaper alternative that is more powerful than thier own last gen, and more powerful than nvidia's 3000 series cards.

Let's clear something up right here right now. AMD is the clear winner and has been since their 6000 series. The reasons are totally obvious, examples...currently one can buy a 6900XT for literally half the price of a 3090. Then you get 90% performance of the 3090. Only a fool will pay double for only a 10% increase. Once the 7000 series cards arrive...it's game over for NVIDIA. I used to be an Geforce guy, but ever since i bought a Radeon rx580 8gb two years ago, best gpu i ever has so i am now over Geforce. My next buy will be a Radeon 7000 series. Just do as i did, accept the facts and save all those extra 100s for other pc hardware.

In Germany, starting prices are RX 6900 XT €809 and RTX 3090 €1099 or 36% more. Where do you live to see 100% more?

It mainly depends on software whether AMD or Nvidia GPUs are better or equal speedwise.
