Just because you're small doesn't mean you can't be as powerful as the big guns. The Precision 5470 utilizes the same Core i9 CPU currently shipping on hulking gaming laptops and other workstations over twice its size, but how does it actually perform?

I follow you Robert,
And unfortunately bunch of redundant gaming benchmarks but almost no relevant content creation benhcmarks: Da Vinci Resolve benchmark, Blender GPU benchmark or others? that least that show for what this workstation is good for. I suspect at RTX3050 level only for cad and not render whatsoever.

Workstations are used for applications that specifically require quadro drivers. Software such as Da Vinci and Blender is sufficient with GeForce graphics. It's software such as SPECviewperf 12 that workstations tend to take advantage of. Software such as Maya is far more demanding and offer far more than blender, for example, and yet they require certified drivers, which is not present on GeForce. This is why cheap quadro workstations exist, for the purpose of running software that require quadro drivers.

We understand all that driver thing but workstation is a misnomer.

A workstation is (should be) a desktop replacement with high end CPU, GPU and network speeds, enough ports for all tasks thrown at it and build quality handling them without problems 24/7 for years.

That is false, i even worked with Maya with first Geforce DDR in 2000, no issue i remember off.

The only apps i had issue without Quaddro was some obscure high end CAD applications.
But for example CATIA worked with Geforce by late 200x's. Solidworks never had any problem.

PS: seems like another good definition Robert. But i think is mostly related to support level they get, insurance and passing the parcel... Basically who chooses a "workstation" is off the hook if anything wrong happens.

I will promptly withdraw then and acknowledge your superiority.

Farewell, for I ride tonight far from this land.

Yours sincerely,
