The Inspiron scores points with a powerful Ryzen 5 APU (Barcelo), 16 GB of RAM, and very good battery life. Positive: USB-C Power Delivery is supported. Dell has chosen a 14-inch display in the more work-friendly 16:10 format here (1,920x1,200 pixels).

Big cons:
1. Awful memory controller tuning in bios - it waste almost 30% typical throughput for DDR4 3200 dual-channel mode (it's ok for DDR4 2400, but not for 3200). Very big latency - 100ns for atomic dram operation.
2. No RJ45 with stable connect for 1-2.5Gbps for business/office(!) series and very slow wi-fi from Mediatek (Intel AX210 with 6E have price 15$...). It nonsense for that series.
3. Very bad panel. Very low contrast, awful color space, too dim. But response is lower (it good) then typical for "60Hz" class.
4. Very noisy under average load.
5. High weight for 14" and small battery.

Why buy this to someone in private order, I do not understand. Well, perhaps in corporations that bobble the money and live on kickbacks in purchasing departments...

54Wh is not small for a 14 inch laptop. It's practically the standard for such a size. Only some laptops go further than this, and the ones that I can name from memory are the LG Gram 14, Latitude 5410, HP Elitebook x360 14 G8 & I think there's some Lenovo ideapad laptop that goes up to 71Wh and its 14 inches, too.

It is actually very small. In 2022 there are over a dozen 13-14" laptops with ~70Wh battery size.
Asus ZenBook UX3402 which is cheaper than the Inspiron 5425 has 75Wh, and that is just one of many examples I can think of.

Dell Inspiron is soooo far behind other value laptop brands (like the above) at this point that they may never catch up.
