Allegedly, Intel and its partners will sell the Core i9-12900KS worldwide as a boxed processor and in pre-built systems.

Likely Intel is jacking up the price ahead of the 5800X3D release and then will drop it afterward. Not exactly surprising for Intel to pull that move.
