Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said during a panel discussion organized by the Bank of International Settlements that they will be guided by the"same activity, same regulation" principle when it comes to regulating crypto. Despite that the digital asset class is currently outside the traditionally banking and finance regulatory framework, it will have to be "brought within" it if it serves the same purposes, he added.
