Original Tesla Roadster sells for an eye-watering price of more than US$250,000 as the electric sports car becomes a collectible

In part due to the historic significancy of Tesla's very first electric car, an early and well-kept 2008 Tesla Roadster has now reached a record price as a collector apparently agreed to pay more than a quarter of a million dollars for the first generation model of the iconic electric two seater.

Someone should explain to the potential buyer how batteries work. But I guess not all collectors expect their cars to actually work.
