NotebookCheck recently spoke to AMD's Sasa Marinkovic, touching upon various aspects such as the AMD Advantage program, what it means to gamers, why there hasn't been much traction for AMD-based laptops in the past few years, and what can be expected this year. We also touched upon steps taken to increase market penetration and possibilities of scaling down AMD Advantage to more budget designs.

No longer perceived as a value brand...
Not true.. They're not out of it yet.
Want proof?
0% presence in tablet space..
0% presence in true premium laptop spce. Where's the amd based Dell XPS and HP elite dragonfly?
What's the deal with limitations put on amd surfacebooks? And why no surface pros with amd?
Because the OEMs still think that the layman only knows about i7.
That's how much intel's advertising over the years have influenced people's minds. And it's not gonna go away just because amd has better products than intel. Intel's marketing genius is something else. They can lie without an ounce of shame to about anything. They still claim that they have the most secure processors when the number of vulnerabilities they have is multiple times the combined number of the other players (amd, nvidia and arm).
They lie about benchmarks as usual and then talk about real world situations...
Anyway. AMD still has a long way to go to actually challenge intel in the laptop space as OEMs still consider them as the '2nd' option.

QuoteI think we have the best fans in the world, the best customers who are very vocal, and are very engaged with the brand

People shouldn't be "fans" of corporations, they should be fans of good products and consumer friendly behavior. I'll go with whichever company happens to be doing that at the time. They are not your friends they are there to take your money.
