The Surface Duo and Duo 2 are Android devices with a distinctive form-factor from Microsoft. The Redmond giant has just gotten approval for a patent that might result in an updated version of this device with even more screen (and, thus, more hinge) than ever before. It may make for a better phone/tablet than the current iteration.

I think its good to experiment with different things, but god damn this device has zero appeal to me.

The "device" is a patent image.

Tri-fold could be a great way to expand screen space in a compact device. I wonder about the aspect ratio though.

I meant the duo line in general. Clearly most people feel the same way as I have yet to meet a single person who owns one. Folding tech as it gets better will excel in ways this can not.

It's just a dual-screen clamshell. I don't know why it's even mentioned in the context of the so called foldables. The form factor could make for an interesting e-book reader (there is something about the ability to shut it that resonates with me).
