To help patients navigate the perplexing in or out-of-network specifics of the U.S. healthcare industry, Google Search is now offering providers the options to list which insurance they take. Given the exponentially higher charges patients can incur when going to an out-of-network practice, the service aims to make emergency decisions easier. Moreover, doctor's Google Search business listings can now be filtered by Medicare insurance and by languages spoken by the practice.

Can't they simply go to the website of their insurance provider and search for a doctor there? I live in a country where this is not a problem and yet my insurance company does have an on-line database of all doctors who have contracts with them and they also run a free hotline that can direct you. This is the 21st century, after all.
