With the new VivoBook K series range, Asus aims to bring some of the features normally found in premium ZenBook offerings at more accessible prices. The Asus VivoBook 15 KM513 offers the AMD Ryzen 5 5500U APU and a vibrant Samsung OLED HDR panel at a starting price of ₹62,990 (US$846). While this is surely an enticing proposition, some of the qualms that the VivoBook series is known for continue to remain.

While matte is good for viewing in direct light and are comparatively fingerprint resistant, it does impede reproduction of brighter whites and deeper blacks, which is the main benefit of going OLED in the first place. An OLED with anti-glare coating would be an ideal display for viewing content with rich color information in reduced ambient light of course :)

I was wondering how you would rate this compared to the Mi notebook ultra. It loses the oled display, but you get a 90hz, 3.2k, 16:10 display. Also USB fast charging and a metal chassis.

I am in the process of finalizing the Mi Notebook Pro. The Mi's chassis is definitely built better and the 16:10 display is a welcome addition. Sadly, I don't have the Ultra yet. Hopefully soon enough :)

Thanks for the review, I recently purchased this laptop as well.

Could you guide me/provide links for how to calibrate the display?

Can you please explain why you refer to 60Hz DC dimming?

At DC dimming there is no frequency just constant voltage.

Is this just a translation issue?

Thanks,
Peter
