As recently revealed by the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance, Kazakhstan is now the world's second-biggest bitcoin mining location, mostly due to the cheap power available and the crypto miners relocating from China. However, this weighs heavily on the country's power grid, which relies heavily on coal-generated electricity.

Well, that's an old article. Currently Kazakhstan has already taken actions against miners by turning off power for them. They take too much power from grid which may be fatal during winter when power consumption increases a lot.

Thank you for the report, kazakistanjin. Can you tell us how is the government taking these measures against grey miners? As far as numbers count, it looks like they are drawing more power and finding them could be tricky.
