The GPD XP is the company's latest gaming handheld, but it will not compete against the AYA NEO, ONEXPLAYER or the Steam Deck. Instead, the GPD XP will face off against gaming smartphones, with the advantage of having a modular controller.

So you've got many options available for mobile gaming, including the Nintendo Switch or older handheld consoles like 3DS/PSP, portable x86 gaming PCs like Steam Deck, AYA NEO, etc., tiny retro emulation handhelds, and Android smartphones with optional controller attachments.

This thing competes with the Android smartphone, presumably at a fairly high price tag, but doesn't have the advantage of being a phone many people already carry around constantly. Seems like a tough sell.

Ok, this may be cool and all, but they're trying to compete with gaming phones. You know, the phones that ONLY gamers buy.

Now, why...of all things that should be added on an Android based "gaming" device, why the hole punch camera?

Many gamers, myself included do not appreciate hole punch selfie cameras or giant annoying notches, even on existing phones, and would rather have a completely notch free unobstructed screen.

Seems like y'all still don't understand that absolutely no one is buying a bulky device like this one and planning on taking selfies with them.

Focus on improving performance and portability on a device like this. Forget the camera aspect! It would probably save you some time as well! No one wants a gaming system to take pretty pictures!

Nobody is buying these for the cameras!
That hole punch is nothing short of weird to see there. Just weird.
