PocketBook will soon start selling the InkPad Lite, a relatively large eReader with an adjustable backlight. Apparently, the 9.7-inch device will debut in the autumn for under US$300, but its display may not be up to the quality of its competitors.

I suppose they achieve the low price with no touch and a lower resolution display.

But the main audience for such a large eInk display is a user that wants to mark up PDFs and other documents.  Even the "pad" part of the InkPad name implies writing.

As is, this is an oversized ebook reader, which I'm not sure has much of a market.  Even my touch Kobo Aura ONE at 8" is more than large enough, probably too large for most buyers.

I just picked one of these up for reading school stuff that can't be reflowed and I need to set the record straight. This thing absolutely has touch. You can even draw on it. Not as well as Onyx Boox but it can be done. For the 220 this is going for on Amazon right now, its a very good deal.
