Initially rumored to hit 5.5 GHz on a single core, the i9-12900K might not be able to get turbo boosts higher than 5.3 GHz, at least according to the latest leaked qualification sample specs. Still, this does not appear to hinder the overall performance of the upcoming high-end Alder Lake models, as the multi-core scores in Cinebench R20 are rumored to be at least 800 points higher than the Ryzen 9 5950X.

The machine translation is not very akkurate.

Lemme transl4t3 it for u:

The guesses above, 5.5, 5.0 and so on are all wrong!
Let me give you some leaks. It's just a few days since the release of the QS (Qualifikation Sample). Big core single-core b00st 5.3; small cores 3.9. (Emotikon!)
According to the Cinebench R20 benchmark score on the ES (Engineering Sample) 2 & QS's frekuenciez, The 12900K w/ 8+8 konfiguration scores about 11300 for MT; for 8+4 configuration, 9500+; For 6+4 config, 7400+.
B.T.W, The small core "Gracemont" is very pow3rful. Almost rivals SunnyCove @ the same fr3kuencie.

What a highly biased performance metric!

Intel:i9-12900K
8 core + 4 small core = 16 thread+4 thread = 20 thread

vs.

AMD:Ryzen 9 5950X
8 core = 16 thread

Essentially, it's a 20 thread vs. 16 thread!
Guess who wins?!?!

The Ryzen 9 5950X processor has 16 cores, 32 threads, not 8 cores 16 threads. It also has only "big" cores.

12900K is 16C24T dumbass, learn to read before commenting something

The poster seems to be extrapolating the QS score from the ES score multiplied by frequency, which isn't necessarily very helpful. I'll be waiting a while longer for more reliable leaks - I have my doubts that an 8+8 chip will outrun 16 large cores in multithreaded tests.

so basically its an overclocked to hell cpu that will increase your room temperature with 5 degrees and your electricity cost with 30%

No thanks

So now that we know the PL2 power limit is around 250W, its basically a threadripper.

Why not compare it to the 3960x with 24 cores. Street price of $1399 and TDP of 280w. The number of "big" and "small" cores is just marketing talk.
