Qualcomm's new CEO reveals plans to challenge Apple and eventually dominate the laptop market in the coming years

The recent Nuvia acquisition is enabling Qualcomm to produce its own chip designs without the need to license ARM IPs. Just like Apple with its M chips, Qualcomm is looking to launch energy-efficient laptop processors and eventually dominate the entire laptop market. At the same time, problems like suboptimal brand awareness and losing Apple as a 5G modem customer need to be addressed.

Apple has made a significant error in judgement letting their A series processor Lead, Gerard Williams III go, start Nubia without them and then get aquired by Qualcomm.

They basically handed to a direct competitor one of their key people by not working to keep him in the fold one way or another.

They should have invested in Nuvia to ensure it stayed out of the hands of competitors and kept a positive relationship with Gerard. What's the best Gerard first went to Apple with his vision and Apple's response was they were not interested? I wonder if they are interested know. 

Know Qualcomm is doing everything they can to keep ARM from NVidia and get a piece themselves.
