The Radxa Zero is the size of the Raspberry Pi Zero W, but with 70% of the performance that the Raspberry Pi 4 offers. The Radxa Zero features a quad-core SoC and will start at US$15.

This gives you almost everything you could want in the Raspberry Pi Zero form factor. Only things missing are display over USB-C and AV1 decode. Might run hot too.

Pricing looks good. 2 GB RAM version gets you some eMMC and better wireless, good enough for many applications.

Isn't 70% of the Raspberry Pi zero's performance worse than the Pi zero?

70% of the Pi 4, not Pi Zero:

"According to Radxa, the Zero should achieve 70% of the performance that the Raspberry Pi 4 manages"

4x Cortex-A53 at 2 GHz is not much worse than 4x Cortex-A72 at 1.5 GHz.

The single-core Pi Zero is way slower. The Raspberry Pi 3 is at least 10x faster than the Pi Zero, and Radxa Zero is faster than Pi 3.

It looks good, but the only significant advantage I see over the new Raspberry Pi Zero W 2 is the extra RAM. The eMMC memory is essentially a built-in SD card, and some past experiences make me wary of that. Since everyone is having supply/delivery problems as 2021 draws to a close, this worth watching. It's a useful option.
