Unlike its bigger brother, the iPad Pro 11 (2021) does without a MiniLED display and continues to rely on IPS. Above all, the new M1 chipset enables an enormous performance boost and, with 5G and USB 4, other components are also brought up to date.

Did you guys notice *any* flicker at all on the 2021 11" iPad? For example, the MacBook M1 had PWM, but also had a constant 60hz flicker. I still get eye strain from other iPad Pros, so it would be great if this had absolutely no flicker at all.

I have a MacBook Pro m1 and I dont notice any flicker at all, I can use it for hours at a time without headaches. My sister has a MacBook Air m1 and she also doesn't notice any flicker and she can also use it for hours without strain. I used her MacBook as well and it also didn't affect me.

Yeah, it's a small minority of people who are sensitive to this kind of flicker. I'm unable to use any modern Apple device, it's really frustrating. The M1 Air has that constant 60HZ flicker, which murders my eyes. Most people are fine with it though, so it's definitely a *me* problem.

Short answer: No, no flickering!  ;)
That's very encouraging to hear, thank you for the answer. You guys are the only site that I've found that actually records the PWM/flicker data, it's extremely valuable for those of us who have issues with it. We really appreciate it   :D

Hello, great review. Are you testing the XDR too? I can't decide between the two and find your reviews very helpful.

Aloha

I use M1 Air, M1 iPad Pro 11" and 2017 iPad Pro 12.9", none cause the eyestrain, unlike some of the amoled screen phones I've tried lately.

I would love to see a iPad Pro based on an AMD Epyc or Threadripper Pro CPU and a dual 6900XT card, add an afterburner card and you would have a potent combination far more powerful than anything Intel based. Just picture a 64 core Epyc Milan CPU, 2 Dual 6900 XT cards with 32GB each and dual afterburner cards running with 2TB of RAM, what a beast that would be. Easily 4 times the performance of anything they offer right now I would think. I'm drooling just thinking about it lol

Hi, I am going to Buy a new ipad pro, 2021 or 2022 models, I Use my ipad for reading and note taking for several hours. 🤓
So for me it's important to have device without PWM and Temporal Dithering.😵💫
You Test PWM for all devices but you just test TD for new Devices and Specific There is no test for 2021 ipads.😔
Can you Update your 2021 ipad pro with testing temporal dithering?🥺
The ipad pro 11 2022 model have TD so definitely i will not Buy it☠️
The 12.9 2022 doesn't have TD but have 6khz PWM it should not be problem for me.🙃
The 11 2021 Doesn't have PWM But there is no Information about TD🧐
The 12.9 2021 Have 20KHz PWM and it's ok because 20khz is enough high for me, But There is no Information about TD.🧐
Please do me a favor🥺, Test 2021 Ipad pro to see do they have TD or not, If it's Possible also test them before and after update Ipad OS Because I Read users that they get headache after update their ipad os, Looks like apple enable TD in new versions of ipad os for old ipad🤔
